Our values include empowerment, empathy, compassion and innovation. POSITION OVERVIEW The WHS Coordinator sits within the People & Culture team and reports to the GM-People and Culture. This is a critical role within the organisation, with the focus to educate staff around their Work Health & Safety (WHS) obligations; implement measures to ensure safe working practices and environment; maintain continuous improvement and ensure compliance against Woodville Alliance (WA)’s legislative and statutory WHS duties.In July 2022, Woodville Alliance won The Voice Project’s Champion award for exceptional improvement in work practices and employee engagement. Staff scored wellbeing at 83%. Woodville Alliance takes the safety and wellbeing of its staff and clients very seriously and continuously strives to improve that.If you join Woodville Alliance, you will join a team of highly engaged, driven and passionate staff, that are committed to supporting the community within western Sydney though its disability, mental health, family and youth support, community development and early childhood education and care.   MAIN DUTIESWHS Management System Responsible for the overall coordination of the organisation’s WHS Management System.Disaster and Emergency Management- Manage the emergency management processes for each of WA sites. This will include Emergency Evacuation drills, Health & Safety Committee  meetings, Risk Assessments, Warden training, Nominated First Aid Officers, Fire Safety equipment and WHS inductions/group training etc.Incident Reporting and Management including root cause analysis, investigation and education for managersInjury Management, Return to Work Coordination and workers compensation -  liaise with relevant stakeholders such as Rehab Providers, Workers Compensation Insurers, treating parties, managers and the affected staff members to ensure that they can safely return to work in a reasonable time framePreventative Risk Management – Educate staff and managers around their WHS obligations and implement measures to improve workplace processes, systems and environment. Focus on employee wellbeing both physical and psychologicalCompliance and governance – ensure employer obligations under the WHS Act of 1995 are met at all times and WA abides by relevant Codes of Practice and Standards. Educate staff and managers around their WHS duties.  ESSENTIALRelevant qualification in Work & Health & Safety (WHS) within Australia or NZ and/or equivalent work experience deemed relevant by the employer.Demonstrated experience of Return to Work (RTW) Coordination, and a good understanding of the workers compensation and injury management legislation.Demonstrated ability to build effective stakeholder relationships at all levels, to achieve critical health and safety outcomes.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with a demonstrated ability to draft policies, procedures and work instructions.Working knowledge of Sharepoint and MS Teams and high-level proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs in particular Excel.Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, statues, Codes of Practice and other legal requirements.Genuine interest in employee wellbeing and demonstrated ability to roll-out initiatives that support that.Able to handle multiple tasks and stay well organised.Strong attention to detail and the ability for analyse and problem solve.Valid Driver’s license, preferably with own vehicle. HOW TO APPLYPlease click the 'apply' button to forward your CV and Cover letter addressing why you would be a good fit for this role.
