Woodville Alliance Ltd is a non-profit for-purpose community-based company, with around 100 staff and an annual turnover of ~$11million. Our major programs are currently in disability, mental health, family and youth support, community development and early childhood education and care. The company has a strong reputation for client focused, high quality services.We are looking to strengthen board capability to take on new opportunities and challenges. Our head office is in Fairfield and we work across surrounding local government areas.  Communities in this area are ethnically diverse, and have low incomes and high levels of disadvantage.For over forty years we've been working to support the people in our local communities to lead independent, healthy and fulfilled lives, particularly those who have disabilities, are young, experience mental health concerns, struggle with family issues or feel left behind in life. As the needs of our communities become more complex, we are challenging ourselves to increase the range of services we provide and to extend our services into surrounding geographical areas. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring our sustainability by exploring new business models, broadening our revenue sources and strengthening our financial resilience.In line with its strategic direction, the company has doubled its size in the last five years, expanded its geographical coverage and moved into significant new program areas. Our work is always underpinned by a strong commitment to social justice, and to values of diversity, compassion and respect. Staff engagement is high and we have a strong emphasis on quality assurance, innovation and adapting to need. Woodville Alliance attracts high calibre directors. Its board is focused on success and collegiate. Its key responsibilities are to set strategic direction for the company, to oversee the management of risk, to monitor performance and to ensure that Woodville Alliance stays on track according to agreed priorities and planned activities. Our directors (all non-executive) bring energy, ideas, diligence and time to the important work of the board.The board is currently seeking two non-executive directors with a commitment to social justice, along with knowledge, skills and experience in at least one of the following:entrepreneurship, developing and scaling new businessesprovision of disability, mental health, family and youth support, community development, child and/or allied clinical services.We welcome interest from applicants with board experience in either the not-for-profit or for-profit sectors, along with applicants with appropriate professional or business experience who are seeking to build their board capability.
