Mentor – Community and Accomodation Support

Mentor (Community and Accommodation Support) Woodville Alliance (WA) delivers a range of integrated programs and services for adults with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, including centre-based and community-based day services, support coordination and Supported Independent Living. We work within a positive, strengths-based, and person-centred framework which seeks to support clients to reach their goals. Our practice is guided by the NSW Disability Services Standards and the NDIS Practice Standards. POSITION OVERVIEWSimilar to a Team Leader, the Mentor Disability Support Worker (Community and Accommodation Support) is a supervisory role and is responsible – alongside the Disability Services Manager, and Disability Support Workers – for the delivery of high quality, individualised services for clients with a disability.The position is based between Fairfield East and Hoxton Park, is permanent full-time and has day to day responsibility for working with clients and Disability Support Workers to ensure that our clients achieve their goals. This position has the following key areas of responsibility:Train, mentor and supervise Disability Support WorkersService Delivery – supervise the day to day running of our Community and Accommodation Support, including the development of Rosters of CareStakeholder Management – clear, accurate and respectful communications with clients, their families/carers, other external stakeholders and other staff of Woodville Alliance, in order to facilitate the achievement of client goalsIndividual and Team Responsibility – working in a positive, communicative manner with all staff to support the achievement client goalsIf successful, you will also be required to participate in a rotating on-call roster to support out-of-hours rostering changes.ESSENTIAL CRITERIACertificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care or relevantAt least 3 years’ experience in a care capacity of people with an intellectual and/or physical disabilityPrevious experience in management in a disability accommodation setting including generating rosters of care. Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct and the Disability Services Act.Ability to engage and recognise issues related to servicing Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients.Commitment to and an understanding of WHS responsibilities including risk managementCurrent First Aid Certificate and NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificateCurrent and verified NDIS Worker CheckValid NSW Drivers’ License and own comprehensively insured vehicleHOW TO APPLYPlease click apply to forward your CV and letter of application addressing the essential criteria 1 to 4 listed above.
