Disability Support Worker – Permanent Part Time 30 Hours Per WeekThe RoleWoodville Alliance has a unique opportunity which is suited to a bright, enthusiastic and energetic Disability Support Worker to be rostered consistently with one client.Our client is a young woman with Down Syndrome, who is ambitious and eager to learn and is eager to increase her independence. She attends our post school education program, has attended TAFE in the past and is currently attending work experience.This great opportunity would be suited to a local resident as your day will begin and end at Padstow, where you will assist the client to travel utilising public transport.Responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to: Meeting the client in her home in the morning and support her to travel to the centre by busAt times transport the client in one’s own vehicle to her work experience and support her during work experienceUtilise assistive technology such as a smart phone to help the client achieve her goalsMotivate, inspire and encourage the client to reach her full potentialForm a strong, secure and supportive relationship with the client and her familyWhile at the centre, form part of the staffing at the Day Program, providing support to other clients as wellOther responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker such as personal care if required, transport of clients, participation in activities to support the goals of clients etc.To be considered, applicants must have:Minimum Certificate III in Disability or equivalent. Candidates with no qualifications must be currently studying or willing to undertake study to be consideredExperience in a care capacity of people with an intellectual and developmental disabilityStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships and inspire othersDemonstrated high level of customer service skillClear National Police Check and Working With Children CheckValid Drivers License, own vehicle and comprehensive insuranceHow to apply: Please click the 'apply' button to forward your CV and letter of application addressing the essential criteria 1 to 2 listed above ASAP!
